About Us
We didn’t learn this business from behind an executive desk or out of a textbook. We learned it through the windshield of a day cab.
Before we ever managed freight, we moved it. We spent years behind the wheel as intermodal drivers fighting Chicago railhead congestion, hauling through Wisconsin winters, and navigating the bottlenecks that break supply chains every day. When you spend that many hours in the driver’s seat, you learn a hard truth about this industry: logistics isn’t just software and spreadsheets—it’s sweat, timing, and promises kept.
We know what it means when an appointment is missed. We know the cost of sitting idle at a rail yard. We know the exact frustration a customer feels when their freight vanishes into a communication black hole, and we know the pressure drivers face to make the impossible happen.
That hands-on grit is why we stepped out of the cab and into operations. We saw an industry full of intermediaries who had never hooked a chassis or run a logbook, making decisions for people who do it every day. We knew we could run it better, leaner, and with genuine accountability.
When the opportunity came to build Celtic Cartage’s Wisconsin branch from the ground up, we didn’t treat it like a corporate expansion. We treated it like our life’s work. Starting from zero, we laid the foundation of our terminal on the principles we lived on the road:
Zero Excuses Communication: If freight is moving, you know about it. If there’s a delay, you hear it from us first, along with the solution.
Driver-First Respect: We know our drivers because we were our drivers. When you respect the people behind the wheel, service failures plummet.
Regional Precision: Chicagoland and Wisconsin aren’t just points on a lane map to us. They’re our home turf. We know the rail hubs, the route pinch-points, and the exact operating reality of this corridor.
Today, Celtic Cartage Wisconsin is built to run hard, fast, and reliably. When you drive for our branch, you aren’t dealing with detached brokers reciting status updates off a screen. You’re working with leaders who know the weight of the freight, the reality of the road, and what it takes to deliver every single time.
